About the Job

We are looking for a Frontend Engineer that can help us build the leading Bitcoin DeFi network: Interlay. You will enable us to ship new features to our community, improve the usability of our dapp, and contribute to our open-source React UI.

You are our perfect candidate if you have a strong track record in the blockchain space of implementing UI components and business logic in a front-end library such as React, Vue, Next.js and have experience with GraphQL. You enjoy using TypeScript and are a passionate software engineer that cares deeply about shipping the product and writing maintainable code with tests. You are eager to push the frontiers of web3, DeFi, and cross-chain technologies together with a team that delivers the cutting edge of BTC bridging.

What you will do

  • Implement new features for our Interlay network to increase its DeFi capabilities (includes bridges, lending, and an AMM) in our React-based front-end application (https://github.com/interlay/interbtc-ui/)
  • Improve our automated testing suite for the frontend to enable us to ship faster
  • Prioritize and coordinate new features including integrations with other projects and novel research together with the team
  • Review pull requests of other team members and give constructive feedback to refactor/improve our current implementation
  • Drive our open-source efforts to release useful libraries back to the open-source community

Requirements

  • Proven 5+ years experience in implementing and maintaining front-end projects (React, Vue, Next.js, ..) projects ideally in TypeScript
  • Proven experience or strong desire working with web3 technologies (polkadot.js, ethers.js, …)
  • Proven ability to improve the life of users: iterate fast and ship the product to the community as often as possible
  • Thorough application of testing best practices and CI/CD understanding
  • Enjoy working in agile teams by applying outstanding communication and planning skills

Nice to have

  • You have implemented GraphQL queries before
  • You have experience in testing automation and devops tools such as Vercel, Docker, Datadog, …
  • Prior work with libraries we use including polkadot.js and/or ethers.js

Benefits

  • Research-oriented team
  • Solve novel problems
  • Stock options
  • Remote working
  • 38 days holiday inc. public holidays
  • Allowance for a co-working space
  • Yearly retreat

Please note: Applications submitted that do not answer (at least) the mandatory screening questions will not be considered

  • The salary range for this role is £95-120k
  • Equity eligibility begins upon successfully passing probation
